1,700 tourism-related projects underway in Iran
TEHRAN – Iran tourism chief has said a total of 1,700 tourism-associated projects are being carried out across the country, IRNA reported.
By the end of President Hassan Rouhani’s current term in office, [which runs until 2021], “We are trying to complete at least 1,200 of the projects,” Ali-Asghar Mounesan said on Thursday.
The number of four-and-five-star hotels which have been launched since the president assumed office in 2013 equals to that of from the beginning of hotel-making industry in the country, Mounesan explained without providing details.
The official announced in May that “Iran plans to construct 2,000 new eco-lodges… over half of which to be inaugurated by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2019) and the rest will come on stream by 2021.”
